is it ok to give fish and seafood to a dog?
is it ok to give dogs seafood and fish products? I’ve always been advised by my vet not to, yet I’ve noticed that it is and ingredient used in many varieties of canned dog food
yes, fish is an excellent choice for food. just make sure to feed raw food, not cooked. for more information check this site www.rawfed.com
fish has some of the best bones which are easily digested by dogs.
keep in mind that it should only be one of many sources of protein you choose for your dog.
veterinarians are a poor source of information about dog nutrition since many vets get only a few DAYS of nutrition information in school and most of the studies are done or funded by the dog food companies that are trying to sell you their food. Do the research, make your own decisions!
Recipes using seafood stock?
I have a couple pounds of crawfish heads in my freezer, I want to use it to make seafood stock.
But after I make the stock, I’m not sure what to use it in. All I’m finding on the internet are recipes for the stock itself, not just recipes using the stock as in ingredient. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Throw some tofu cubes and spinach in it, heat it up, and enjoy an Americanized version of miso soup.
What is the recipe for seafood coctail?
There is a delicious version of seafood coctail, particulary served in Mexican Restaurants in El Paso and the South West. It has cucumbers, shrimp, avacodo, octopus, squid, jalapenos, etc. I would like to know what they use to make the sauce. Can someone please give me the recipe?
SEAFOOD COCKTAIL SAUCE
1/2 cup Heinz chili sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup prepared horseradish
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
coarsely cracked freshly ground black pepper
pinch of cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 cup canned tomato puree (optional)
1/4 cup celery, strings removed and finely diced
Wash celery. Using a vegetable peeler, peel long, tough strings from outer side of celery (or break celery pieces and peel off strings). Very finely chop the celery in a blender, as follows. Fill a blender container with cold water; add 1 1/2 inch pieces of celery to the water in the blender and pulse for a few seconds at a time until celery is finely chopped. Drain water and place celery on a clean paper towel to dry thoroughly.
Rinse blender container. Combine all ingredients (other than celery in blender container and process until smooth. Add chopped celery and process for just a second, only long enough to mix (or stir in chopped celery by hand so that more texture is retained). Season to taste with salt, pepper, and lemon zest, if desired. Store in a glass jar in refrigerator until ready to use. Makes about 1 1/2 cups
